Twelve Months of New Orleans Cooking

While standing in line at the monogram shop yesterday, I met Illya Roberts, author of a new cookbook, Twelve Months of New Orleans Cooking.  She had just returned from Taste of Chicago and was preparing for Taste of Dallas, which starts today at Fair Park.  I love that while working away as the NBC5 Traffic Manager, on the side, she fulfilled a dream of hers to write this book at her mother's urging.  I also like that  she took authentic creole recipes and made them healthier; read: less butter.  If you'd like to buy the book, you may visit her this weekend at the show or order it through her website.

It makes perfect sense that you would meet a great person in line at a monogram shop! That's where only the coolest of them all hang out. At least, that's what I think! ;)
